Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “küçük sindirilebilirler”) teşhismlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine destelanmasıyla oluşan güdük polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino hamız lafıntısı ile öbürü arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok sayıda polipeptit zir birimi çitndırır). Kök ayırt peptitlerin güdük, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino hamız, vesair amino asite sabah akşam, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle destelanır. Polipeptid örgüsına katılan amino asitlerin her biri örgüya peptid destelarıyla destelanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir ab çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Yaklaşık bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Bilindik en uzun polipeptit, ortalama 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda kâin “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine katılan amino asitlere lafıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki lafıntı, bağ yapmamış, boydak amino grubu çitndırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin vesair ucundaki boydak α-karboksil grubu olan lafıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
